transcyberism:

every time someone calls a cis man an egg because he decides to deviate even slightly from traditional masculine gender norms, an angel loses its wings

you do realize that cishet men deciding to goof around with things that are traditionally feminine doesn’t automatically mean that they’re queer, right? you understand that?

the same bitches who see a man trying on candy scented perfume rather than axe body spray and go “omg you go girl!!” “see you during your transition sweetie! 😘” “which could mean nothing!” are the same bitches who decry the gender binary and say shit like “makeup has no gender!” “clothes have no gender!” “your self expression doesn’t equal your gender!” it’s almost like y'all see queerness as inherently feminine. hmm.

maybe this is a hot take, but goofing around with gender expression isn’t restricted to queer people, nor should it be. cishet men can wear skirts and eyeliner. cishet girls can bind and cut their hair short. cishet people can get funky with presentation and still be happy as their agab. stop reinforcing gender binaries by calling every seemingly cishet person who decides to deviate from gender norms an egg

also while i’m at it and not at the tags yet, if you use this post to bash trans people in any way, i’m throwing tomatoes at you.

it’s also functionally equivalent to misogynistic “what are you, a girl?” style toxically-masculine bullying. not in intent or origin, but definitely in effect. it means that these guys end up constantly looking over their shoulders being scared that their actions are going to be interpreted as “too feminine to be a man.” it doesn’t matter whether it’s coming from a place of support or not, it’s still making people feel like they have to conform to a very particular box in order to not be singled out about it. saying “he’s not really a man” has exactly the same effect as saying “he’s not a Real Man.”

The real thing with ADHD is not “I forgot”, but that forgetting is this ongoing process. I remembered! And then I forgot.

At ten this (hypothetical) morning I remembered that I have a meeting at six. And then from 11 through 3 I worked on other stuff and had zero thoughts about that meeting. Maybe even thought about what I was gonna do with my evening at home. Got attached to the idea of taking the time to make a good dinner, maybe play some video games.

And then at three I said, “Oh! Fuck!” and remembered again, hopefully long enough to set an alarm. And then I went to the bathroom and remembered that I need to clean the counter and spent twenty minutes cleaning the bathroom and went to get a snack and then at five I said, “OH! FUCK!” and had to scramble to dress like a real adult and get out the door.

It isn’t one clean forgetting. It’s a constant process of forgetting and then, with an exhausting adrenaline spike, remembering. And then forgetting. Baby, I can forget the same thing more times in a day than you ever forgot your parents’ anniversary.

From the OP: “If you sit at a desk or stare at your phone all day, this is for you. Here’s how to undo the damage:
- Banded Chin Tucks - Strengthen your neck flexors and fight forward head posture
- Banded Pull-Aparts - Target your rotator cuff and improve shoulder stability
- Banded Abduction - Activate the midline of your scapula for better posture
- Lateral Deltoid Raises - Build shoulder stability and control
- Banded Up-and-Overs – Boost scapular mobility and range of motion

These simple banded drills will help you stand taller, move better, and feel stronger - even after hours at a desk.”

Some of these are the same or similar to the exercises my physical therapist taught me.
